No, certaintly not MacDonald's!
Lunch was shared with hundreds (seemingly) of O.A.P.s dressed in their finest American flashing ear-rings, and stars and stripes waistcoasts, line dancing to tunes from the Thirties and winning raffle prizes of very large calculators! |
Loved your report!! Thanks for writing.

Okay - I've waited all evening for someone else to ask but I guess I'm the only one not getting it. What are O.A.Ps?
|
Sorry, I was worried about that one, but didn't know what you call your Old Age Pensioners? Senior Citizens? Over 60s? You get the idea.
|
Oh - I suspected that's what you met. I think its great you got to participate in a local event and to really see Americans at play. Its sounds like it was a colorful, tacky event. Did you see any "Red Hat" ladies? Now there's a colorful group of senior citizens. (Its an organization of women over 55 whose only goal is to have fun. They always wear red hats usually with some clashing shade of purple. Its a sight to see them all together.)

Probably my last post as thread seems to be coming to an end.
Bennie, obx girl & ncgrrl, the location may not be that important now that I've explained the scariest bit, but it stlii takes a lot of courage to admit to.....The Country Buffet?! |
That *DID* take courage to admit .... an "all you date eat" place! <g> great report!!
|
Oh, dear - worried that was the case. Will never break my vow of silence again, no matter how you all beg!!
