Washington DC hotel with ..........
What Washington DC hotel is the best for walking to all the sights.
All price ranges acceptable.
Thanks
From what I understand, there isn't any one place that is within walking distance to ALL the sights. If you are near the Mall, you'll have to take the metro to see the other sights off the mall. The best bet is to get a hotel at a good deal that is near a metro stop! You'll still have to walk to and from the metro. We're staying at the Hotel Rouge in Sept. for a Sunday and Monday for $250 Total. Got a great deal on wdcahotels.com. Have fun!

FYI - The Hotel Rouge is not actually close to the metro.

The Hotel Washington was very centrally located. We walked to the Smithsonian, Washington Mon., Lincoln Memorial, Holocaust Museum, Bureau of Engraving, White House, The Capital & even the Roosevelt Memorial, & the Ford Theatre. It was a lot of walking & we were tired with 2 kids, but it worked out good. The only time we took the Metro was to go to Arlington. The Hotel Washington also had a great family rate. We paid around $135.00 - $150.00 for a double room.

The Rouge is close enough for these two 25 year olds to comfortably walk, that's all we need!

Just came back from D.C. a few weeks ago. Stayed at The Barcelo( a Ramada) in DuPont Circle. Liked that there were actually restaurants around and it was walkable( if you like to walk)to the sights. Even closer to Georgetown for nightly entertainment.
