Washington,DC for Thanksgiving, where to stay???
 

We will be staying in Washington,DC for 3 nights over Thanksgiving and need advice on an upscale Hotel in a good location for touring, please help.

Mayflower, JW Marriott, Willard, Jefferson.

Hi Dayna, <BR>I second the Willard. Also, the Hay Adams. The views are great but the rooms get booked fast. The views from the Willard are nice - we had a view of the Washington Monument - but only a few rooms are in front so ask.

I haven't stayed at the JW Marriott Washington DC, however I did get a chance to see inside and it is a very upscale hotel, close to all of the attractions. <BR> <BR>When I was in DC this last time with family I actually stayed at the Embassy Suites Downtown on 22nd Street and I was very impressed with the value given and the hotel overall. <BR> <BR>Any more questions feel free to post them!

We really love the Ritz Carlton chain, and you might want to consider the Pentagon City Ritz Carlton. technically, it's in Northern Virginia but - You walk about 30 feet from the front door to take the escalator down to a metro stop - just a few stops and you're in the center of D.C. The side door of the hotel leads into a high-end mall (Macy's, etc) which is a nice option also. The rooms are lovely, and I find that they usually are very price competitive,especially to the downtown D.C. hotels.

I'll add the Four Seasons in Georgetown. Fabulous hotel in a happening neighborhood. An evening stroll through G'town beats the deserted downtown area where the Willard, Hay Adams & JW are located. I'm sure the 4S has a way of getting you to the sites you want to see.
