Personally, if you want a really extensive brunch just a short walk (over Key Bridge) to Georgetown, consider the Sunday Brunch in the "View" restaurant at the Key Bridge Marriott which is located across the Key Bridge in Rosslyn.

Fabulous views of the Potomac and Georgetown and, as I said, a short walk into Georgetown...you can reach the hotel via Metro (Rosslyn).

Your group will like Georgetown for shopping, walking, people watching. Lots of brunch places in Georgetown, you just have to walk around and choose: on Wisconsin: Paolo's, on M St: Nathans, La Madaleine,Bistro Francaise, Clyde's, Dean & Deluca, Washington Harbor has a few places by the water and Bangkok Joe's, Some may not serve until 11:30 on Sunday. If your teenagers have never been to a Johnny Rockets, have lunch/dinner there and play "Staying Alive" on the table jukeboxes and see the fun happen. Some thrift shops can be found on Wisconsin Ave. above P Street. Enjoy!
