Washington DC Beer Bars

I'm hoping someone out there can steer me in the right direction. We're staying in DC overnight and going to a ball game in August. I'm looking for a good craft beer bar in a good DC neighborhood that we could walk back to a hotel. We're not into the trendy or hipster scene. We're all in our late 30s and just want a place with good beer and a relaxed vibe. Any suggestions?

Birch and Barley / ChurchKey (Logan Circle area)
Pizzeria Paradiso (Dupont Circle area)
RFD (Penn Quarter)

They all have websites.

Thanks! I will check these out. I have hear that ChurchKey is overly crowded and over hyped. Do you know if this is the case?

Where is your hotel??????

The ones we went to while in DC were the Chophouse Brewery and RFD. Really enjoyed each. Also went to the DC Pourhouse and enjoyed it.

We haven't decided on a hotel yet. I was trying to figure out which neighborhood would be the the closest to a good bar. Little backwards but we have priorties! haha!

What Nats game are you going to? Ill be down there for a Reds game.

Have you been to Nationals Park? I like it and find it very enjoyable. Nothing spectacular about it but found it to be a very nice park. Granted, it was a Red Sox series so that helped.

There are two Elephant & Castles in DC. The one near where I work is a pleasant spot for drinking a beer outside. Good selection of beers and good food.

Nah, I was there when my beloved Giants lost something like 8-1 (Strasburg pitched) and I still enjoyed the park. It's not AT&T, though.

Not many of them are even close to AT&T...Friend of mine and I were just going back and forth over our top 5 stadiums...

Mine are (I will not rank Fenway against any)
PNC Park
Petco Park
AT&T Park
Camden Yards
Safeco Field

I haven't been to any of those new ones other than Camden Yards. We did some baseball trips about 10 years ago, but then they started tearing them all down...

Sorry fot the late response, I have to figure out how to get notifactions on my posts! We're going to the phils v nats on August 20th. There's going to be over 30 of us. We haven't been to the Nats park yet. AT&T park is awesome. We love Fenway. I really thought wrigley was pretty awesome too, hard hats and all! You guys should come to the Phils Park - Citizen Bank Park. It's a really great staduim and the fans aren't that bad despite what you might hear!

"I have to figure out how to get notifactions on my posts!"

I don't think that's an option here but if it is, it probably isn't an option you can choose after the fact like at TripAdvisor

I have been to Citizens Bank a few times. It is a great stadium. I've never had a problem with Phillies fans - similar to Red Sox fans, they are an extremely passionate group about their team and if you show them respect, you will be fine. There is a small minority that ruins it for a few.

We'll be passing somewhere on 95 as I will be heading home as the Phillies arrive in DC.
