Washington DC - Arena Stage?

Has anyone been to a performance at the Arena Stage? Unfortunately we will be visitng in early November, in between major productions at the Kennedy Center. My husband is not a big opera or symphony fan. However, I ran across a performance on the Arena Stage website that looks interesting. It looks like it should be easy to get to by Metro, according to the website. Any comments? Thanks!

I've always been impressed with the shows I've seen at Arena Stage. Don't limit yourself though. Here are some other theaters that are just as good (and sometimes better):

Folger Theatre
201 East Capitol St. SE
Washington, DC
202-544-7077

Ford's Theatre
511 10th St. NW
Washington, DC
202-347-4833

National Theatre
1321 Pennsylvania Ave. NW
Washington, DC
202-628-6161

Source Theatre Company
1835 14th St. NW
Washington, DC
202-462-1073

Studio Theatre
1333 P St. NW
Washington, DC
202-332-3300

The Shakespeare Theatre
450 Seventh St. NW
Washington, DC
202-547-1122

Stanislavsky Theater Studio
1742 Church St. NW
Washington, DC
800-494-8497

Warner Theatre
1299 Pennsylvania Ave. NW
Washington, DC
202-783-4000

Woolly Mammoth Theatre
Seventh and D Streets NW
Washington, D.C.

I agree that Arena Stage generally has very good productions and that there are also a number of other good theatre companies to choose from. This website will give you links to a number of the theatres so you can easily find their November schedules:

Curiously, however, it omits some good ones like Wooly Mammoth.
I am particularly partial to performances at the Shakespeare Theatre and the Folger but there are many other good places. Hope you find something.

Thanks so much for the input. I feel silly asking this question, but what about attire? Would coat and tie be appropriate for Friday or Saturday evening performances? Or is the tie not necessary? Thanks!

A coat and tie would not look out of place but it's definitely not a requirement. Have fun. Arena Stage has a long history of providing good regional theatre to the DC area.
