Washington DC accomadations
 

We're going to DC for 4 days in March. Would like to stay in a convenient location - accomodations should be either a suite with two double/queen beds and pull out sofa or two adjoining rooms. Prefer breakfast, parking, and indoor pool but would take parking and breakfast. By the way, we're 4 people - 2 adults, 2 boys- ages 16 and 13.
Anyone ever stay the Homewood Suites? We prefer to stay in DC. Thanks

Our family of four is going to DC the first week in June, and I booked the Embassy Suites Washington DC. There are a couple of other Embassy Suites around DC, but this one is most convenient. Our neighbors stayed there last year with their kids and said it was great. They have breakfast and an indoor pool and I think the parking is $20/day.

Thanks but I already checked Embassy Suites and they are not available for our dates. Homewood Suites are supposedly owned bythe same parent company as Embassy Suites.

Both are owned by Hilton. We stayed at another member of the Hilton family, the Hilton Garden Inn on Franklin. We didn't have a suite, but it was a convenient, clean and nice hotel. I am sure the hotel has suites. Check it out.

Hilton owns Homewood Suites and Embassy Suites so you can check www.hilton.com for their DC properties. I cannot think of a Homewood Suites in the downtown area but I may be mistaken. You may also want to check Marriott's website for Residence Inn hotels.

Hilton also owns the Doubletree Suites in Foggy Bottom. We stayed there last June. A block and a half to the metro. We had two queen beds in a separate bedroom, plus a sofa bed in the living room. It comes with a full kitchen and a large table, so you can make your own breakfast. We paid $149 and parking was $20.

I second the vote for the Doubletree in Foggy Bottom. Was there 2 years ago, and accommodations are very nice in a great area. It's about a 5 minute walk to the Metro. Keep an eye out for the deals where breakfast is included (I think it's called 'Dream Deal'.) Their breakfast is a room service breakfast--very nice and tasty!
