Washington D.C. restaurant

My husband and I will be travelling to Washington D.C. in late Augutst. What would be a great place for a romantic dinner on a weekend evening?
Thanks, Nancy

Obelisk or Tabard Inn are two romantic spots with great food. Both require reservations: Obelisk well in advance.

Menu changes daily at both.

You might want to check out 1789 or Citronelle in Georgeton, or if you really like seafood, try Kinkead's.

I second the recommendation of 1789. Particularly good idea for your date because they have a late summer special going on 3 courses for $35. A bargain there! Great food, service, and atmosphere. Ask to sit downstairs rather than up. Here's their website with 3 for $35 coupon: http://www.1789restaurant.com/coupon/index.cfm

I was in Georgetown last fall and ate at 1789. I would certainly recommend it. Excellent!

Thanks very much. Sounds like 1789 and Obelisk will be good choices.

I would recommend the Equinox - I went there for my birthday and was amazed - and it's about 2 blocks from the White House.
