Washington D.C. Duck Tour
My husband, 6 year old son and I will be in Washington D.C. in the middle of July. We have never taken a duck tour anywhere. I would appreciate hearing from those who have taken the D.C. duck tour. My son is not easily entertained, so I am wondering how quickly the hour and a half will pass for him. Also, I have some concerns about the summer heat and humidity. Will it be uncomfortable riding in a vehicle with no air conditioning?

I too would like to know, so I'm bumping this one up.
We took the Boston Ducks tour and really liked it. The one in Austin TX was ok. Planned to take the one in Galveston, but ran out of time. The Ducks add the twist of riding in water as well as on land. In Boston, the ride in the river was informative. In Austin, I thought the ride in the lake was ho-hum. The tour guides on the Ducks try to be very comical as well as informative. Also, we get to "quack" at people occasionally as a group. In Boston we just said "quack". In Austin we were given noise-makers that "quacked". So, as I said, I too would be interested in learning about the DC version! |
I would greatly appreciate anyone's response on this. Thanks in advance!

LG2, did you quack at Scooterdude?

We were just in Washington DC this past week for 4 days with our kids. The duck tours sold out early every day we were there. Plan to stand in line first thing in the morning at Union Station unless you can get tickets ahead of time.
We did a duck tour in another city, and our sons loved it. Every 6 year old I've known would think it's great fun. |
Thanks, padams421, for the helpful tip.

If you buy tickets in advance do you still have to wait for a time or are you assigned a time? The website doesn't give any information and they have not returned e-mail questions. Thank you.

I called the website that sells the DC Duck Tour etickets. Purchasing etickets only saves a little money. It does not save any time waiting in line. You must still wait in line to exchange the eticket for a boarding pass.
