Washington D.C. Breakfast Spots near Thomas Circle

We're staying at a hotel on Thomas Circle and was wondering if anyone has any good breakfast spot recommendations. Something that's maybe a must do in D.C.
Thanks!

The best choice close to you will be The Commisary - http://www.commissarydc.com/

In general, all the best nearby choices will be just a few blocks NORTH of your hotel - in particular P st. between 14th & 15th and 14th north of Rhode Island Ave.

Or west to the Tabard Inn, on N between 17th and 18th. More of a "must" than the 14th and P restos (which are fine), though a few blocks farther away.

If you don't mind a "dive," you can also try Trios on 17th and R for breakfast. What are you looking for when you say you want breakfast?

I agree with and like all three of the suggestions.

I'll add the Old Ebbitt Grill onto the list for weekday breakfast. It's a 10-15 minute walk from Thomas Circle towards the White House on 15th St.

Weekday or weekend?

As far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be any particular food assocaited with DC like say Philly and scapple (which is gross btw and I'm from Philly). We don't mind a dive. Just looking for a good local place with variety. Nothing too pricey. I'm not really sure what I'll be into that day but standard breakfast stuff but maybe with a twist.

I agree w/ above: Breakfast ( or lunch or dinner) at the Tabard Inn is a must. Certainly walkable but you might decide on a (short) taxi ride instead. Check Google maps.

One more for the pile then: Crepes A GoGo on P Street at Dupont Circle. Small, not fancyl with really friendly service. Sweet and savory choices. They are large stuffed crepes.

I would try Java House at 1645 Q Street, a few blocks west of Thomas Circle.
