Wash DC - Capital Hilton

O.K. - I know some people are not fans of priceline.com. After this weekend I may not be either. I just booked a room at the Capital Hilton in DC using priceline. The rate was good but I admit that I know very little about the hotel.
The location of the hotel looks good on the map but I was curious if anyone here has stayed there. I would love any comments, restaurant tips, etc..

Thanks for the feedback.

Sean, I work up the block from the Capital Hilton and can assure you that the area is perfectly fine and safe. You are about two blocks from the White House and a block from the Farragut North metro. While I have never stayed there, I have been there for events and was completely satisfied with the service. My office often puts people there when they come to town and we have yet to hear a complaint.

I stayed there a few years ago. If there is still a Trader Vic Restaurant there, I loved their curry. The hotel was clean, in a great location, and the staff was agreeable.

I've stayed there several times -- it's a very nice hotel in a very convenient location. And the curry is great!

Trader Vic's is no longer there (darn!). It's now Fran O'Brien's Steakhouse.

I've stayed there as well. Great location, nice rooms, beautiful (dark) wood-filled lobby. Not your basic Hilton. If you have a car, be prepared for exorbitant parking fees--also, I think the valet parks the car somewhere in Arlington; it took forever for the thing to show up.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel much more confident in my choice. Looking forward to getting there.

Thanks again.
