Warmest spot in U.S.A.
 

A winter holiday for two weeks in Jan or Feb. Where is the place on the continental U.S. excluding Hawaii where you are most likely to have the most consistently warmest weather?

Miami, or southern Florida.

Palm Springs is a good bet for nice warm weather in the winter months. Phoenix also has it's fair share of nice warm weather. I guess that's why both of these locations are so popular with the Canadian snowbirds looking for some warmth.

I would consider the south southeast Texas coast. It is not always warm in southern FL in Jan & Feb, even in Miami. I think it is consistantly warmer in south Texas.

I've been to Miami in January and nearly froze since I didn't expect the cool weather.

I'm not sure HOW far south in Texas you are referring, but I've gone from Houston to Miami at that time of year and it was definitely warmer in Miami.<BR><BR>I suppose it depends on the year and how the winter is.

Statia, I don't really consider Houston part of the southeast Texas coast. I was thinking more of the Corpus Christi area. Not only is it warmer than Miami in Jan-Feb, it is also very pretty. I have lived in FL for 30 years. Most years you must go further south (Keys) in Jan-Feb to get temps in the 70's. Yes, that's not always true, but usually. Now, I don't know what YOU call warm, but that doesn't do it for me. If you want the warmest spot, do the Keys. if you look at a map, the southern tip of Texas is further south than Miami . . . ..

Hi Cold!<BR><BR>The desert, Palm Springs & Death Valley has pleasant temps during the day, but gets COLD at night! Just so you don't expect balmy evenings....

This February (2002) Florida was a major disappointment. Cold wind on the golf course, never wore my swim suit, my one wool sweater was worn to death. This is the third time we have had this experience in Florida. From now on, we cruise the southern Caribbean during January and February.

Houston is farther north than the most southern part of Texas.<BR><BR>I actually consider warm weather to be pretty warm considering I'm in winter clothes when it gets lower than 75. I'm in the West Indies myself, but travel to MIA and IAH in the winter at times. I just figured that in my experience MIA is pretty warm in the winter compared to a lot of Texas. <BR><BR>However, having been there for so long, I'm sure you would know a lot better than I would.<BR><BR>Thanks.<BR>

Wow.....Miami is warmer than Brownsville. Learn something new everyday. I'm sure it still depends on the year, though. Some winters are worse in certain areas.<BR><BR>Thanks.<BR>

We don't need any more visitors here in January and February, but Naples, Florida often the highest temperature in the US at that time. We are almost always higher than Miami which is cooled considerably by the cooler Atlantic and the stronger winds. Key West being surrounded by water is rarely if ever warmer. Being the southernmost city on the Gulf coast makes Naples/Marco very warm. Of course we can have a few cool spells as well, but overall it is warmer here than anywhere in Texas or Southern California.
