Warm vacation destination in Feb, not Florida.
Need a sunny, warm place for a week in February. We usually go to Sanibel but this year want to vacation wihtout having to see the family we have that lives there. Austrtalia weather looked good but with only one week, I'm not sure we'd have enough time. And Mexico or Carribean would have huricane problems, right? What are the odds of having good weather early-mid feb in Hawaii? Thanks for your help in advance.

Can't answer most of your questions, but you won't get hurricanes in February--the hurricane season ends in November (I think).

And I agree, a week's too short to fly to Australia and back. I'd definitely wait until I could budget at least two weeks for someplace that far away.

There's always the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Loads of great resorts with every possible amenity. Weather is PERFECT is February.

Hurricane season is over by then - we vacationed at Playa del Carmen, Mexico (on mainland across the bay from Cozumel, about 30 miles south of Cancun)a couple years ago around February, and really liked it. The weather was great, and there was a lot to do. Great bargaining for shopping, good food, etc. Taxis were abundant, but you could easily walk to the shopping district. The only thing they warned about was not driving the highways after dark, due to people driving junker cars without headlights, people walking the roadways, bandits, etc. Otherwise, the resorts & town was safe...Also, Hawaii would be good - you could end up with rainy weather, but nowhere can you guarantee "perfect". Maui/Kauai would be good choices.

We went to Maui in February a couple of years ago and it was wonderful! The weather couldn't have been more perfect. You'll love it.
