Warm beach in Dec in SW FL?

Can some one recommend a good warm beach in December. The plan is to get away from the cold in the Northeast. We are looking for scenery, peaceful sunset walks on the beach in our shorts. Not necessarily swimming. Are the waters in Dec end warm enough in South West FL?

If you're not going to swim, why does it matter how warm the water is?

Sanibel or Captiva is probably your best bet. Do a search for either in the text search box above.

Go to Tween Waters Inn in Sanibel/Captiva. It is fantastic.

We were at the beach in Naples last December; people were swimming especially from 10 or 11 until 2 or 3, but it was a little cool otherwise. I grew up in Maine, so the water was not cold to me...

Check Marco Island, about 45 minutes south of Ft. Myers/Sanibel/Captiva; it is just off the coast of Naples.

I've lived in Ft. Myers since 64. The weather in Dec is generally good but can vary. I own timeshares on Ssanibel Island & Ft. Myers Beach. Sanibel is tough to beat & offersa quaintness & charm you won't find other places & is much more reasonable. You might try Hilton Grand Vacations, they manage several resorts in the area or my favorite is Tortuga Beach Club @ 941-472-0400. Enjoy!
