Want to dance in Austin!

Spending a week in Austin, TX from October 19 to the 27th. We love country dancing - line and couples. Love to two-step. Any suggestions?

It's been a couple years since I moved away, but I think there's place called the Broken Spoke that has what you're looking for. Can any Austinites confirm?

I asked the same question when I went to Austin last summer (see my post titled "Line Dancing in Austin")<BR>We went to The Broken Spoke, which is a neat honky tonk, but they don't line dance there. We also went to Midnight Rodeo, which is more like a nightclub. I'm pretty sure they line dance there.

There is a reason they don't line dance in Texas...IT SUCKS! You will not catch a real Texas Country & Western joint offering any line dancing.

Do yourself a favor and drive yourselves out to the small town of Gruene on a Sunday afternoon for live music and dancing at Gruene Hall -- great fun.
