Want a nice ocean front hotel near Ft. Lauderdale

Am traveling to Coral Springs with husband and 4 young children for family event on Memorial day. Will be in Orlando for a few days then wish to join other family members for 3 nights at a hotel ON THE OCEAN near Pompano, Boca, Derfield Beach or Ft. Laud. Would like a suite hotel and will need connecting rooms. Any ideas? Need to make res. asap. Thanks

This shows as getting one response, but I don't see any. Do you? (besides mine, that is)

Guess what? I live in Coral Springs. There are several brand new hotels in Fort Lauderdale and I would go for the Atlantic Hotel or Trump recently built one. The best place would be between Sunrise Blvd on AIA to Las Olas. If you stay between there, you should be happy. Next best is Marriott in Delray but thats 20 min north of Coral Springs. Either way you have a 20-30 min drive from Coral Springs. Delray has beautiful restaurants and really nice environment, especially for kids. Ft Lauderdale has a lot of 20 somethings running around but you will still be happy there too.

I've stayed at the Embassy Suites in Deerfield beach several times. Nice place for kids, nice pool area, full breakfasts included, on the beach but you cross over a (non-busy) road. I don't know about adjoining rooms though.

You could also try the Pelican Grand Beach right on the beach just 5 minutes from Las Olas. REALLY nice hotel. Once again, check re suites/adjoining rooms.
