Walt Disney World Parking
Hi-
I'm not staying at Disney or in Orlando but want to visit WDW. I'll be coming from Tampa and probably won't arrive at WDW until 10am or so. My question is how much does it cost to park at WDW. Also, if the lots fill and are closed, where can I go from there? Any other tips on parking, directions, or traffic would be appreciated too. Thanks-
Paul

We used to live near Orlando and we were just at Disney last week. Parking is $6 for all their lots, and if you decide to go by car from one park to another during the day, just show your parking pass from earlier and you won't have to pay a second time. You also asked about directions. I assume you'll be taking I-4, so it's pretty easy, because they have a lot of signs. When we go, we usually take exit 26B, but there are several other exits as well. When are you going? Unless it's a holiday weekend, the parking lots probably won't fill up. As for traffic, it's pretty heavy in Orlando during the week, but not too bad on weekends.

If you belong to AAA, get a special parking card from them. You still pay the full price, but it's a special area in the lot that is not only closer, but is probably less likely to fill up.

Parking is actually a bit more expensive (7-8). If the parking lot is full, I would try a different park. A full parking lot would mean that the park is impossibly crowded.

Driving around WDW is a breeze. There are signs everywhere!

Jean Valjean---
If parking is $7 or 8 now, then they've changed it in the past two weeks. We were there on 5/19 and 5/20 and it was definitely $6. By the way, we got to Disney-MGM an hour before opening and didn't have to pay for parking at all, since they had no one manning the booths.

I guess they have different pricing for different times. We were there on Easter week, and parking was $7 at WDW and $8 at Universal...

It will be definitely worth your while if you can arrive as close to park opening time as possible. Parks are much less crowded in first few hours and you can zip thru some attractions that will be crowded later. Check wdwig.com the unofficial WDW site for lots of tips before you go!
