Walt Disney World on Easter - 4 adults
 

We are going to be en route to Vero Beach, FL from KY over the Easter weekend and will be stopping to "experience" Magic Kingdom on Easter Sunday. <BR>The reason we are going is the wives have never been (the guys have as kids)<BR>I would like suggestions on what to do to give the girls a "magical Disney experience" while still not riding the kiddie rides. We are 20-somethings.

Be prepared for tons of kids and long lines! Easter is the worst time to go.

First of all, you'll have to arrive at Magic Kingdom EARLY on Easter morning, as the park will be jam-packed on that holiday and will likely close admittance mid-morning when it reaches full capacity. Secondly, you and your wives would probably enjoy attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and the Timekeeper, etc., IF you don't mind waiting forever in line!<BR>

Every park in Orlando is going to be crowded that weekend. Have you considered going up to St. Augenstine for the day???

Do you really think it will be crowded? I would think it would be a good day as people would be doing more traditional "family" stuff like easter egg hunts, church, and a meal.

Chris, we don't "think" Magic Kingdom will be crowded - we know it will be!<BR>Any guidebook on WDW will show you the facts: Easter Sunday and Christmas Day are always sold out - first come, first served.

Chris - You are absolutely correct... as a veteran of several Easter Sunday visits, the parks are Quieter in the early morning and until about 12:30 pm.<BR><BR>So get there way early with those running shoes on and you will be in good shape...<BR><BR> Some people think that you may collide with the annual televised "Easter Parade", however that parade is taped ahead of time and is not really live...<BR>however the crowds do build quickly and by 2pm, you will be waiting in long spring-break lines.<BR><BR>If you plan well,hit the top rides early, and you can finish with the Easter Parade at 2 or 3... after that just wander or eat early, picking up the less popular attractions and shows.

Chris-A lot of people don't go to Church on Easter and it is prime break time for the kids. Been there-done that. And even if you go early and try to leave you will be battling the traffic and crowds on your way out. Save Disney for another time when you can see the park without the lines, crowds and rushing through it.

It looks like the room is divided on whether it will be crowded or not. When I get abck, I'll post and tell you who was right.<BR><BR>We're going either way cause the ladies want to go (and we know how that is).<BR><BR>What are your suggestions for 20-somethings to be "DIsney-ized" without turning into 8-year olds?

Chris you crack me up. Where are you getting the impression that the room is divided on the issue of crowds at Easter? Every post but yours seems to recognize that there will be enormous crowds on this day. So families go to church on that day but the 20 somethings with no kids don't? What they wait to have kids and then get religion? If you're 20 something and don't go to church what would motivate you to go when you have to lug kids to do it? Have a great time at WDW .

Everyone says it will be crowded. Sratching my head as to the room being divided. Unless you like kids and crowds I would not go, no matter what the girls want to do.

At my earlier post...I count 3 saying it will be OK and 4 saying it's crowded. Not 50-50...but close enough. I LOVE to crack people up

Chris, instead of taking the girls to Disney take them to South Beach where the scene is hot, hot, hot, the people watching great and lots of fun stuff for 20 somethings. Better than Disney IMO. Or let them go shopping in Palm Beach. You people really need to learn how to live. Disney is tacky man!

Geez, maybe it would be nice if SOMEONE would actually answer the original question instead of releasing their tension behind the curtain of the keyboard!! This site is becoming a verbal road-rage!! Now, to add to the day I would get on the monorail and go to the Grand Floridian and attend the character breakfast (with reservations) or try Cinderellas Castle and pray that someone has cancelled at the last minute!! Either place is great and would be a special thing to do on Easter.

Yes, I'm sure a lot of the local Florida families will be doing the Easter church/dinner ritual. However, MOST of the people at WDW will be from OUT OF TOWN, like you - not at home doing the Easter thing! Easter Sunday at WDW will be shoulder-to-shoulder; I guarantee!!

Chris,<BR> I have been to WDW twice on Easter Sunday. PACKED doesn't begin to say it (but notice I did go back a second time). The parks are jammed all day. Just get there before the gates open. Go straight to Space Mountain. Ride before it gets crowded. Get a fast pass to use later or go get a fast pass for another ride you want to do . For great ino on WDW go to www.disboards.com

My vote goes to Universal's Islands of Adventure - fantastic rides and fewer kids!

So it looks like it's a definite that MKingdom is packed on Easter Sunday. Would ya'll say the same thing about Epcot or Animal Kingdom?

Add my vote that it will be PACKED at the MK on Easter. Count on it. Personally I'd rather endure Chinese water torture, and I like Disney, it's the crowds, waits and long lines that would start me hyperventilating but hey, that's just me.<BR>.
