Walt Disney World for age 60

Is there any ride in WDW that we should NOT take considering I have a neck problem and my husband has a back problem. These conditions are not severe (bad enough). We are spending 7 days there.

Thanks for any feedback.

I think common sense will show you the rides that you must avoid. The obvious ones would be the Tower of Terror and the Rock n Roller coaster or whatever. WDW is not particularly known for its wild rides so you will find plenty to do.

My husband has severe neck problems due to a cervical laminectomy and we just take it easy when we go. We were interested in the Animal Kingdom Kilimanjaro Safari which is not a thrill ride but is a bumpy ride through the "african" landscape. DH wore a neck brace for the few minutes of the ride to stabilize it and was just find. It is less bumpy at the front of the bus.

I'm sure you'll learn more here and you can always check with the Disney boards.

You could start here with your questions (it is for those with disabilities probably greater than yours but you will pick up some ideas):

Most rides at Disney post signs telling patrons that if they have certain conditions (and they list the conditions) they should not ride the ride.
It's also important that you pace yourself, sit for a while when you get tired, go back to your hotel for a break, etc.
All in all you should have a good time.

Dear LMF,
Thanks for your reply. Since we are thinking of taking the Safari your tip is very helpful. We will avoid the TT & RnR.

I'm going to the web page you mentioned right away. Again thanks.

I have back and neck problems and always ride Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster with no problem. The rides that bother me are Star Tours in MGM , Body Wars in Epcot and the Dinosaur ride in Animal Kingdom. They are very "jerky" and send my back right out or whack. The problem with the posted warnings is they all say to avoid the rides if you have any problems. Most of the rides there are VERY tame.

Dear Schmerl,
Thanks for your feedback. I'll keep the rides you mentioned in mind. We decided that on our last day in WDW we will try some of these "jerky" rides as we will be flying home the next day.
Any heatlh problems can be remedied at home.
