Walt Disney for adults?
Wondering what you ejoyed? Did you stay on sight? Which hotel and package? How about dining? Did you visit Pleasure Island?

Just got back from Tampa and had a blast at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure (a few miles east of Disney). Universal also has CityWalk, which is home to many famous restaraunts (yes, they're chains!) like Emeril's, Margaritaville, and Hard Rock.

Hi Bruce,
Is this your 1st time to Disney? If so, you have alot of planning to do!
I suggest purchasing the books "The Unofficial Guide to Disneyworld" & also "Disneyworld for Adults."
My husband & I have been to Disney alot & have enjoyed every trip.
The best hotel (for adults) we have stayed at so far is Coronado Springs (on sight). It is in the moderate price range & is really geared toward the corporate crowd as it is kind of a convention center. There are adult pools in each complex & it is peaceful & beautifully landscaped. I believe we stayed in the "Casitas" which were near the lobby, gift shop, restaurant & food court. Great view from our room of the lake too! We never waited in lines for any of the shuttle buses at the parks, even when every other hotel bus stop was packed!
I would highly recommend the restaurant in Mexico (in Epcot) for great atmosphere & lunch at Cinderella's Castle. Also, eat at the restaurant on top of the Contemporary - what a view!
Walking around the countries after Illuminations in Epcot is also very nice.
Pleasure Island is alot of fun-if you can stay up that late after a full day of running around, that is!
Try to take as many boat rides as possible-they are always nice & romantic! All of the boat shuttles that Disney provides are free, so it is an inexpensive way to take advantage of your surroundings!
If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at my address!
Enjoy!

Definitely check out info on Deb Wills' unofficial guide page: www.wdwig.com My husband & I went several times before we had kids. We love roller coasters, & found out we could ride Space Mountain over & over while the daily parade was going on (and all the kids were watching it!) Pleasure Island is lots of fun, my favorite club is the Adventurers' club with the best theme & shows! Universal's Islands of Adventure & Studios are also great, you can see most everything in two days. HULK roller coaster & SpiderMan ride at IOA are OUTSTANDING! Have a great trip!

There is so much to see and do and you don't ever have to go into a Disney park and spend the sometimes ridiculous amount of money (as much as I love those parks)...I went to Downtown Disney, City Walk (at Universal), went to EVERY Disney hotel there was, Boardwalk Disney is nice, the Hyatt is gorgeous in Lake Buena Vista. The Swan and dolphin are too. There are shops at the Boardwalk. Go to the All Star Sports, Music hotels and see how picturesque that is. Anywhere you go..just LOOK for places. Lose yourself there. You'll LOVE it! and you'll come back with $$$$. :-)

Bruce:
We've bought the deluxe package for the Grand Floridian twice - and are planning to return January 2,000. It's Club Med at Disney: all inclusive, including meals, golf, all recreation etc. We especially like the hotel restaurants at the Floridian and the Yacht Club, and the golf is to die for. Five championship courses, each one better than the rest!
We live in Orange County, CA and are admitted Disney fans but Orlando is way cool for grown-ups! There's so much to see and do, and of course the park employees treat you like kings. Have a wonderful time, make dinner reservations when you arrive then relax. We skipped Pleasure Island, but our twenty-something son went to Disney World on his honeymoon, and he and his wife liked the Island and Universal Studios very much. You don't say how old you are; I'm forty-eight, and my son is 28.

Bruce: My wife and I just got back from Orlando last Saturday and had a great time at Disney. The highlight was dinner at the California Grill atop the Contemporary Resort; we had a very knowledgeable server named Gail who was very helpful with our wine selection as well as our entrees. Food also was great at Epcot in the Marrakech and Akershaus restaurants. We stayed offsite at the Hyatt Orlando (I had a conference there) but you're only 10-15 minutes from Disney. The Millennium Parade and fireworks at Epcot were unforgettable, but the Magic Kingdom seemed smaller than Disneyland. Have fun!
