Walk or taxi to broadway shows???
 

We are staying at the Westin at Times Square in December, and have tix to Lion King, Christmas Carol and Radio City Christmas Spectacular, will we want to &quot;hoof&quot; it or taxi it to any/all of these??? Also, thinking of these restaurants before or after (just hubby and myself), B. Smiths (we love her), Becco(found this on this board and most of you love it), Ruby Foo (we love Thai) and Le Madeleine (ditto the Becco comment) for pre or apres theater....any thoughts on which restaurant for which show?? Proximity etc.....<BR><BR>Thank you!!!

I can tell you one thing: fighting for a cab amid the crowd pouring out of a packed theater isn't fun. I would at least consider walking back after the show--stretch your legs! (Enjoy the shows!)

It would be faster to walk. Also, you'll getter a better feel of the NYC holiday spirit when you walk around. I think Becco's would be closer to the theater. Ruby Foo is about seven blocks up north and B. Smiths about six blocks north and two blocks west of the theater. While I have never patronized Ruby Foo, I think their prices are too expensive for what they offer.

Lion King is only about 2 blocks from your hotel. Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden is about 10 blocks (1/2 mile) south, Radio City is about 10 blocks/avenues combined northeast. All are very easy walks. If you want to avoid walking, you can take a subway (one stop ) or a bus easily to Madison Square Garden but it will take about the same times as walking or more if you have to wait for the bus/train. Taxis both before and after a show will be scarce, but not totally impossible if you leave yourself plenty of time (before show) or are very patient (after show) If it's raining and you really need a cab, well it will be even harder, I'm afraid.

try and get a cab....if you find one, it won't be able to move in the traffic...you will walk in the end.<BR>save yourself the trouble and start out walking....

Which restaurants for which show, which night???? Any ideas????

No matter which theater/restaurant combo you do, all are definitely walkable.
