Waimanalo Bay - How Windy ?
Since we started planning our wedding 18 mths ago we have had our hearts set on Waimanalo for the ceremony. It seem like just lately I have been hearing an awful lot about how windy and wet it can be. Probably just pre wedding paranoia ;)(just a few weeks to go i.e end of May) that's making this info stick but I just wondered how windy is windy ? Are we talking blow your hat off windy or gentle breeze windy ? Does it make a difference what time of day? We're going for a 3 o'clock ceremony. Is it that windy / wet that we should consider moving it to either Ewa or Sunset beaches ? Thanks for your input.

I think you will be OK in Waimanalo.
The rainy season ends anywhere from end of March to end of April. Most of the rain in the summer are morning showers & most of them are in the mountains. As far as the winds, it can be fairly calm or windy anywhere on the island. Most of the time it will not be too strong in the summer. |
Thanks for the reassurance Dusty :) Waimanalo it is then !

I have been to Waimanalo many times - its the beach we head for when we go to Honolulu. We were introduced to it by relatives who live in Honolulu. It's their favorite. We have never encountered really windy conditions any time we have been there. I think its a pretty safe bet. Congratulations and have a beautiful wedding!!
