Wailea Restaurants

We'll be in Wailea for 6 nights. Here's the restaurants I have planned,
1) Nick's Fish House
2) Humu (name too long to type)
3) Spago
4) Ferraro's?
We'll be at the Four Seasons. Can we walk to all of these? Also, what would you add to the list. We enjoy outdoor dining with good views and food. Also, casual dining suggestions for dinner would be appreciated.

Sorry, I do realize Spago and Ferraro's are at the FS. Also, I should say we would really like to be able to walk to dinner or take a short drive most nights. Thanks :)

Dump the humuhumu restaurant at GW and take a drive to Hailimaille General Store! Sashimi Nepolean is worth the price of a plane ticket!

Agree with sistah about HGS. DELISH!

One big splurge dinner I am planning for our upcoming trip is a visit to Capische? up the hill at the Diamond Resort in Wailea. Apparently it is very good. We'll see...

Much enjoyed the ((8))atmosphere present at ((#))dinner((S)) at humuhumu and recommend an early reservation to coincide with sunset. The days you plan to rent a car would substitute Spago or add on a trip up to Mama's Fish House.:P

Aloooohaaa JohnD!!!! Malama Pono, G

We actually did reserve a full size car today for the whole 7 days for less than $200, so I am happy. I had no idea taxis from the airport ran around $70 and the valet at the 4S is only $12.
John D. Your advice has been great - thank you :)
I will look into Mama's and Capische. I think I'll keep Humuhumo. Anyone know what time the sun sets in late June-Early July?

Sorry for all my spelling errors! I'm just excited and typing fast.
Any casual dining ideas???
What about Luau's, are they worth it??

jallard Jan 20th, 2007 03:47 PM

iamg - Great info. Thanks! So, for a 7:15 sunset, would you do a 6:45 reservation?

Our casual dining favorite is located just north of Wailea in Kihei: Maui Tacos(www.mauitacos.com/hi.htm)

P.S.-Aloha S.lou, to the Kaha Ki'i (formerly known as G.lou): A'ole pilikia!

We like Tommy Bahama's restaurant in the Shops at Wailea. You can sit outside, although the view is blocked by a new condo.

I don't have first hand knowledge so maybe shouldn't post this, but how about Mulligans on the Blue? Located on Wailea golf course. I've read many good reviews and actually had ressies to visit there last year during our trip but it didn't work out for us to go. It will be on my list for our next visit however. They have a pretty good website if you google Wailea, Mulligans you'll find them. They offer live entertainment which is a plus. Just a thought . . .

I second Mulligans (and also passing on Spago) Fun atmosphere and good food (good for breakfast as well) and within walking distance of the 4S. Nicks and Ferraro's are our two favorites so far - havent tried Humu. All are withing walking distance on a sweet beach path.

I third Mulligans. We had a really nice dinner there, and it was good for a casual night. Nice change of pace from the $200 special dinners we had.

Nick's Fish Market is excellent.

Have a great time!!

The Humu is next door to the 4 seasons, we enjoyed it and sat for 2 hours eating and watching the sunset.

We ate at Spago and I have to say that it was one of the most AMAZING meals I have eaten, EVER! My brother said Ferraro's is also spectacular. Both are on the grounds of the Four Seasons, so you just have to go to the pool, make a left for Spago or a right for Ferraro's. :)
