Visited Waikiki in early July, and we can certainly second the recommendation to go to Leonard's for malasadas. We ate at three reasonably priced restaurants on Beachwalk: Yabusoba (Japanese noodle shop), Sushikoh (sushi), and Arancino (Italian). I don't know if you would like Japanese food, but the two places we visited had a largely Japanese clientele, which speaks to their authenticity. We visited as a family of four (my wife and I, with our two teens). Our meals averaged under $100, from a low of $65 (noodles) to $132 (Italian). Very friendly service in each case.

I love those 3 restaurants! I'm glad to hear they survived the construction & remodel of Lewers Street etc.
