Waikiki Moderate Hotel Recommendations

Budget minded mid 20's foursome traveling to Waikiki this summer. Prefer 5 star hotel - but budget won't allow. Would like a clean and comfortable hotel. Any great deals out there?

When you say moderate...what price range are you talking...esp. for 5 star.

We stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott for $125 a night...and it was AWESOME!!! Granted we have a major plat. member with us and we got upgraded to a BEAUTIFUL ocean view room...but I liked the location and the hotel.

If you visit www.biddingfortravel.com you'll see that people are getting Sheraton Waikiki resort on the beach for about $110 per night through priceline. Just read their message board rules, post your desired info and they'll give you tips on how to try and get that rate. Plus, you can see what deals other posters are getting for your desired dates.

At www.betterbidding.com they have helped pin the Hotwire hotels. You match up the * level, amenities and location to figure out which one hotwire is offering you. There's no guarantee, but people have gotten deals at Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort for $140 - 150 a night.
Might be worth looking into, though beware, once you purchase through the opaque sights, there are no refunds or changes.

For 4 people you might be better off renting a condo/hotel room using the Entertainment Book. Using Priceline you'll have to get 2 rooms.

I stayed at an Aston 1 br highrise condo/hotel about 3 blocks from the beach for around $110/night and it could definately sleep 4. Sorry I can't recall the name but check the Aston or EB websites for more info.

Have a great trip

Booked my hotel via Priceline last October at the Hawaii Prince for $85 a night.

Check out biddingfortravel.com for information on using Priceline. I enjoyed my stay tremendously. You can also check tripadvisor.com for hotel reviews.

If you're not a bidder type, but willing to listen to sales pitch for timeshare, you can get a great deal at Hilton Hawaiian Village. Must become a Hilton Honors Member (easy and free registration online). Once a member, contact them and ask about their specials.
