Are you able to walk the beach along all of the hotels?say at waters edge Any help would be great, we leave in 2 weeks so I really need to nail down the hotel Thanks all |

I think the Outrigger on the Beach is the more upscale of the two. It has a nice beach, small pool, two nice restaurants (Dukes and Hula Grill).
You can walk along the beach right the way along. We stayed at the Moana Surfrider which we loved - we used the pool and beach. The Surfrider has a bit of private beach with loungers for guests as does the Royal Hawaiian. |
Yes you can walk the stretch of Waikiki beach along the water from HHV down to the Old Moana. There are only ~9 (i think it is) hotels actually beachFRONT. You'll see if you can find a Waikiki map with hotel locations.
I personally prefer Outrigger Reef's location. I also like their lobby shops, general layout, restaurants better than Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach (which is in a more crowded location, central part of the beach). Anywhere along this stretch is VERY close to restaurants, nightlife, etc. Central Waikiki is physically quite a small, condensed area. |
Right now Outrigger Reef is probably best as it has been completely refurbished. There will probably be lees kids there.
With the addition of water slides for Royal Hawaiian/Sheraton Waikiki and Hilton Hawaiian Village, those hotels are getting more kids. Outrigger Waikiki is right in the center of Waikiki. Outrigger Reef a few blocks from the center. There are shops & restaurants throughout Waikiki. The beach runs the entire length. So no hotel is really that much better than another as far as location. Lots of info: http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...trip-to-hi.cfm |
Water slides at the Royal Hawaiian? Say it ain't so.....

The water slide is at the Sheraton's pool

Well, that's better LOL!

Thanks everyone. My gut is saying Waikiki Beach.
I keep looking but at a few others but keep coming back to the Waikiki beach, I got a good price on an Ocean View and could upgrade to an ocean front for like $900 more, not sure if it's worth it. Anyone have info on beach chairs and umbrella? I know they are not included with The Waikiki Beach. How much is it to rent them or would you just go buy them and leave em behind when you leave? |
