Waikiki Christmas Day

We will be arriving in Waikiki from the UK late on 24th December, staying at the Parc Hotel for 1 week. Do we need to book lunch/dinner at the Parc or elswhere (any recommendations?) on Christmas day ?

Are there any special things happening over the Christmas period that we shouldn't miss ?

Any information would be appreciated.

If you can get a reservation, you might consider the Sunday brunch on the 26th at the Moana-Surfrider hotel.

I was there over Thanksgiving and ran into similar situation.
Many otels posted special menus for Thanksgiving dinner, and will do so again for Christmas. Don't now if you need reservations, but the town was packed with tourists then, and probalby will be at Christmas, seems it would be recommended.
We had T'givng buffet dinner at Halekulani Orchids Restaurant Lots of variety, good food, very expensive ($60/pp)Great one time experience, but woudn't do it again. Nest time--and take this as a suggestion for Chirstmas too--I'd have dinner where we stayed, at Sheraton Moana Surfrider. Even if you don't eat there i highly recommend you spending some time taking it all in-- gorgeous old hotel, and right now, it is beautifully decorated. They put their lights, trees, etc up day after Thanksivng so we got to see them. Beautiful--not just front entry and lobby, but also the Banyan Verandah, with lights around the banyan tree there. Stroll up Kalakuau to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center--tree decorated with sea theme, and Santa pulling sleigh of dolphins!
You've picked an enchanting time to be in Waikiki!

You might look in the Sunday papers (not yet on the web as I write).

We visited Waikiki in October as first-timers. Liked Hula Grill, Lewers St Fish Co, Keo's. There's so many places you shouldn't have much trouble IMHO altho' reservations are probably a good idea for Christmas dinner.

Hopefully some Fodorite HI residents can chime in before you leave home.

Sounds like you've got some lousy weather coming to UK before you leave.

I put a few links in our vac website:

Have a great trip. :)

Every year, there are Christmas lights and decorations downtown near the state Capitol. They have funny things like Santa with a surfboard, etc. It's always fun to spend an evening walking around lookig at all the things set up.

Good list of suggestions posted in today's Honolulu Advertiser:
