Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel
Does anyone have information on this hotel? It looks nice from their website.

Not the greatest unless you have a great deal. Very busy. Right by the marketplace which can be interesting late at night. It's a great location for getting around. That hotel always seems packed with Japanese tours.

It's an OK place, I have stayed there several times. Once I got a $50 room there on Priceline!
It's in a terrific location, all the action of Waikiki is right outside the door. Parking is atrociously difficult there. I think they are offering $89 a night rooms for seniors, thats a good deal. |
We stayed there a year ago and enjoyed it. We found all of Waikiki was filled with Japanese tourists. We like their public area and also their restaurant for breakfast. In January we were booked at another hotel which wasn't near as nice. I also enjoyed the short walk to the beach. As we were right across the street from the Hawaiian Village we could watch them light the torches at evening.

It's in a good location, but if you are trying to park there, it's a bit difficult on entry as you need to mow down (or nearly so) pedestrians on Kalakaua avenue to cross over into the parking garage lane.

Yea, I agree with Steve. When I said parking there is atrocious I was thinking about the hair-raising entry to the driveway that leads to the parking garage, LOL. And God forbid you have to exit down Duke's Alley when the kiosks are open and in full swing.

Not too many Japanese are coming now because of terrorism and SARS. It still is more than most cities though.
