Waikiki 4/5 Star Hotel Recommendations
Hi, I don't have time to research so I'm asking you guys. Doesn't have to be on the beach, we can walk but we'd like it to have a cool pool since we've got two boys ages 4 and 5 years. Any ideas are helpful, thanks!

The Hilton Hawaiian Village, for the super pool and the family friendliness.

We took our (then) 6-year-old grand-daughters to Waikiki last year -- stayed at Marriott Waikiki Beach primarily because of the pool (with great snack bar), and easy access to quieter end of Waikiki Beach (just across the street). They loved it:

I'd go with AuntieMaria's recommendation of the Marriott. The HHV is having a lot of problems since its sale...lots of employees fired, restaurants closing, maids not allowed to give you new shampoo unless the old bottle is empty.... and many more details that add up.

My cousins, who can afford to stay any where, love to stay at the Resort Quest Waikiki Beach Tower. It is a condominium with spacious two-bedroom, two bath units with full kitchens. Ask for a room above the 17th floor. Walk right across the street to famous Waikiki Beach.

Stating the obvious, but the Royal Hawaiian and the Moana Surfrider are the "first ladies" of Waikiki.

Halekulani is the best hotel in Waikiki.
With kids, Hilton Hawaiian Village would be my choice. lots of Oahu info: http://fodors.com/forums/threadselec...p;tid=34812564 |
The royal hawaiian is closing in june or july for a year for renovations, so that's out.
We are staying at Moana Surfrider end April for a few days and I will report back. I heard (tripadvisor) that Halekulani is looking a bit shabby these days. Can anyone confirm or deny? |
Thanks everyone, I'll check these out. Any thoughts on the big island hotels?

We liked the Waikiki Parc had a great view from the 10th floor and walked a few 100 feet to the beach. They also included a great breakfast in the AM.
