Wahoooo - Kaua`i
We just got home from a fabulous dinner, and I want to give a rave review, 'kay? =D>
Wahooo in Kapa`a (on the highway, near the fire station) opened about 4 years ago. A group of us dined there when it first opened -- loved the food, but the service was really, really s-l-o-w. So much so, that we vowed to avoid the place.
But we always remembered how great the food was...so 4 of us returned there for dinner tonight. Service was impeccable, food is still outstanding, and I recommend it highly (especially for seafood lovers!). They are also open for lunch, but with a very abbreviated menu.
Tonight we had appetizers (soft shell crab, sashimi platter, veggie spring rolls -- all _excellent_), and house salads (try their guava-basil salad dressing...yummy). Entrees were all seafood -- sauteed scallops, shrimp stuffed with crab, opah stuffed with shrimp, sauteed ono. Pricey, but ohsoworthit! Dinner service begins at 5pm -- get there early, or make reservations (it was packed by the time we departed).

....and this is how it begins. You say to yourself, let's plan a new adventure, maybe Alaska, need to hit Tuscany.....
.....and then little miss radio celebrity says the words opah and ono.
BAMMMMM!!!! Suddenly you get this pit in your stomach and the little elf in your head is saying..."You have nothing booked, you have nothing booked, not in rooster country, not in cow country, not even in Pele country."
Feeling a little queasy now! tALK AMONGST YOURSELVES!!!!

Oh crap, I'm a card carrying PETA person. They're gonna recind my membership just like those snotty K9's did.
I just had my spinach, so I'm feelin fabulous!

Yep, it's the restaurant next to the big coconut grove in Kapa`a where the goats often graze. Long ago, there was a herd of adorable burros (donkeys?) who lived there, too...

Just got back from the hellhole Saturday night. We almost went to Wahoo but hubby was feeling a little tired so we just went over to Duke's instead. We are going back next year in September (haven't booked yet so not sure of dates) and will definitely try this place.
Will try and put together a trip report later this week.
Thanks for the update AuntieM, caught the last 30 minutes of your radio show Friday am - great music!
