w/ smileys--help!

Can someone please give me the link and show me how to use them? As if I was 5 years-old please! Thanks!

Click on this link:
fodors.com/forums/smileys/

See the smiley you like, then look at the sequence of characters you have to type. Like in the top left, you get the =:) by typing in = : ) but without spaces between.

Now the advanced lesson:

Put your cursor over the =:) and click your right mouse button once. Select "Properties". The popup will give you the name of the smiley. The green guy is called "alien". The red guy below him is "angry" :@ (that is colon-ampersand). It's hard to tell what some of the smileys mean, so it is good to know their name. The smile in row 5, column 1 is called "clap" and is animated: =D>

And to make it easy to use them if you don't want to print out the page, but have a very weak memory like me:

(this is for internet explorer, but other browsers use your bookmarks or whatever they call them)

1)put the smileys page in your favorites list.

2)When you are replying to a post and want to look at the smiley page, click on smileys in your favorite list, find the smiley and either copy it or memorize it, then press the back button to go back to your post and insert it.

That's ((~)) cool.

JAGIRL Sep 15th, 2006 01:11 PM

Does anybody know what he heck this smiley is supposed to be?

what is this? :-o)))

CAPH52 Sep 15th, 2006 01:19 PM

No clue, JAGIRL. And the last time I responded to a question like that, I called the cow a pig (or vice versa)! But that ((D)) sure does look good. Too bad it's too early for poison!

Dreamer2 Sep 15th, 2006 01:23 PM

JAGIRL Sep 15th, 2006 01:25 PM

:))That was you? I actually remember that Caph!:))

I was just thinking about that this morning when I saw this post.

CAPH52 Sep 15th, 2006 01:45 PM

Wouldn't you know that's the one thing I'd be remembered for?! :D
