W Hotel in New Orleans?

Has anyone stayed at the W Hotel in New Orleans? (Not the French Quarter one but the one on Poydras Street? I would appreciate your comments.
Thanks...Paula
It's nice. If you're not familiar with W, it's the new "hip" brand from Starwood (parent of Westin, Sheraton, etc.). Nice rooms, great TVs, VERY comfortable beds. Much more style than your average hotel. the lobby is unusual and interesting...neat furniture, lighting, etc. The bar in the lobby is so hip that it's a big hangout spot for locals.

Only a few blocks from the FQ (a 5-10 min walk) and VERY close to the casino

Thanks Dave...I love the fact that it's close to the casino.
Paula

What are the price ranges for the W hotels? Are they expensive?

I'm not sure, my company is paying for it...I think $159/night don't know if that's a special corp rate.

Paula
