Volcano Area on the Big Island

Is anyone familiar with a subdivision called Mauna Loa Estates in Volcano? I just got our house rental confirmation and that's where the map shows the house to be.

Nope, but if you like Thai, eat at the restaurant in the village and call the Ace Hardware during the day to make your res. The same family runs both - and the food is authentic. Mom flies back "home" to Thailand for spices and supplies. Absolutely delightful food.

What is the name of this restaurant? Thanks.

I don't know. Volcano village is tiny and the Ace Hardware is in the middle and the Thai restaurant is attached to the side of the hardware store. I could do a google search - but don't remember the name.

Any Hawaiian Fodorites know?

The name is Thai Thai.

...and it's next to the True Value (not Ace)

Just read a google item and the review said it was the best meal they had on the Big Island.

I believe Mauna Loa Estates is just across from the town of Volcano. We stayed at the Country Goose B&B there in March, and it was wonderful. The Thai restaurant is much better than the ones along the Kauna coast.
