Vistana Villages--comments and restaurant pics?

We are planning a trip to Orlando, and we will be staying at the Vistana Villages. Does anyone have any comments on this location?

Does anyone have any dining recommendations that are toddler-friendly?

Thanks!

Since this is a timeshare, you might get better answers on the Timeshare Users Group BBS @ www.tug2.net from people who have stayed there, and others who go to Orlando frequently.

If I remember correctly, there are two different Vistana Villages (or two places that had similar names). I stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Village at 12401 International Drive in April 2002. We absolutely loved it! We got a 2 bedroom luxury villa from hotelkingdom.com. The website with pictures is below. All of the pictures are accurate. The pool was one of the nicest I have been in, the rooms were spotless, the cabinets come stocked with dishes/glasses/pots, the patio is screened in, rooms have cd players and vcrs, and the staff would put all dirty glasses/dishes into the dishwasher and run it for you. The hotel is very close to Seaworld, and there are a bunch of strip malls in the area with small restaurants. If you like Thai food, I recommend a restaurant called Thai Thani (11025 International Dr.) Let me know if you have other questions! http://www.discounthotelsorlando.com/Orlando/

Kimee,

Yes, that is the same place we are going to stay. I have a couple more questions for you. You said that the staff run the dishes for you. How often does someone come into the condo? What kind of activities are there for children? I will definitely check out the website you mentioned. Thanks!

I think they only come in once a day to make the beds/vacuum/do dishes. The staff was very nice and would come back at a different time if you were in the room. I'm not too sure about things for children. I'm 25 and went with a few friends. I do know that there is an arcade in the building near the pool, there are tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, ping pong tables, and who knows what else. Somewhere near the pool there is a place where you can sign out sports equipment (I think it is free) and can also sign out rafts, balls, and toys for in the pool.

Question for others who have stayed at Vistana Villages - I was reading that they do not offer any Non-smoking units. Any non-smokers stay at this property? Wondering about the residual smoke smell?

Also--they have a little store on site for groceries/sundries. I believe that there is a shuttle that takes people to and from the Disney parks. Walking distance is TGI Friday type place---Irish name can't think of it now--it's a chain--think there were other chains like Outback Steakhouse and some seafood restaurant---definitely need to rent a car if you are staying here for sure....
