Visiting Georgetown University

Would it be better to stay somewhere on the Metro and just take a taxi to and from the hotel? Then we can use the metro to hopefully take at least a very quick trip to the Mall. My daughter has never been. I've only been in DC one other time for just a few hours myself.

Thanks! Any other tips are appreciated. We'll only be in DC the one day.

I was there a couple of years ago visiting my neice and there is a Marriott right on campus you can stay at. We ate lunch there.

You could stay in Rosslyn (area of Arlington, VA) which has the Rosslyn Metro stop (Orange and Blue lines) and you can walk to Georgetown University across the Key Bridge if you like. (It's around a mile to walk between Rosslyn and the University.) There are many hotel options in Rosslyn.

Take a cab. It's a monster of a walk from Rosslyn up lots of hills. If you are going for a campus tour, not need starting with a death march.

Just to be clear, it's an easy walk over the Key Bridge into Georgetown, the hills are between town and campus.

Yes, it would be easier to stay near a Metro station and taxi to campus.
