Visiting four islands next week

I am visiting four islands (Oahu, Maui, BI and Kauai) for three weeks and my husband and I want to know if anyone can suggest any towns like Paia...we have heard that it is quaint, has fun shopping and good food. Any other recommendations? We also are curious about access to Kealakekua Bay and snorkeling. We will take any suggestions regarding any and all islands.

While we were on the Big Island we rented kayaks. One kayak will hold the two of you. You can rent your snorkel equipment at the same time. There are a couple of kayak/snorkeling outfitters on the main road. We put in at Kealakakua Bay and kayaked over to Captain Cook's monument. The snorkeling is very good there and it was an inexpensive day. We had breakfast in Paia en route to Hana. I think we ate at Charlie's. It answered a burning question for me. Where did all of the burned out hippies go? They were at the bar drinking at 9 am while the rest of the world was having breakfast.

Paia is a total waste of time (for a tourist). Absolutely nothing there except a few hippies from the 60's as DawnCt stated. If you do the road to Hana you have to drive through Paia so you can decide for yourself if you want to stop.

Max,
I believe Hanapepe on Kauai still has a Friday night art showing if you're there then.

You'll have a great time. Are you spending a few days at a time at each island, then moving on to the next one? Just a word of advice. My husband and I honeymooned there. He travels quite a bit and has lots of frequent flyer miles. I thought it would be a great idea to stay on Maui the whole time and take the interisland flights to the other islands. What I didn't realize is our hotel was 45 minutes away from the airport, and all the inter-island flights (at that time anyway) left at @7:00am each day. So we were up at 5:00 every morning rushing to the airport to spend the day on the other islands. We would do it differently next time around!

Interisland flights run regularly at all times of day.
