Visiting Belmar, NJ

I want to plan a weekend trip with my boyfriend for the summer to Belmar, NJ. Two people gave me recommdations to visit!

What are the best places to stay (for young people)? Something affordable, preferably no more than $180 per night and a hotel that's closest to everything so we can walk.
What are some good bars and restaurants? Do we have to pay to get access to the beach?

ANY info is appreciated, thanks!

Belmar isn't really a "hotel" kind of place. There are numerous BnBs but I don't know anything about them so can't rec. any. My son lives there.

The daily beach badge is $8

There are lots of bars but the most well known is Bar Anticipation.

Restaurants I like: 10th Ave. Burrito, Benny's Fattoria, La Dolce Vita, Rajun Cajun, Mr. Shrimp, The Windmill. Kleins.

There are lots of houses which are rented to groups of people in their 20ths, so be prepared for some rowdiness.

Did you look into what I posted for you in your previous thread? Asbury Park.

Hey Susie,

Thank! Yeah I just discovered there really aren't many places to stay in Belmar. Going to see what type of Air b&b's I can find.

I did check out Asbury Park! I like that too. Do you have any suggestions on certain bars and restaurants here? Is everything walkable? :)

Asbury Park is very walkable. There is quite a variety of restaurants and clubs, many of them located along the boardwalk or on Cookman and Lake Aves. Here are a few:

High end:
Pascal & Sabine
Bonney Read
Moonstruck.

Mid range:
Porta (great pizza and a club at night)
Toast
Plaza Tapatia

Clubs:
Stone Pony
Wonder Bar
Johnny Mac's
Watermark
McCloones

Is Bruce Springstein allowed in Asbury Park anymore cuz he is frickin' old.

Actually, Bruce Springstein shows up quite a bit not only in Asbury Park but other locations in Monmouth County. He is generous and always friendly to those he meets. If he is not on tour and someone he knows is performing he will probably be there.
