visiting 11/8/01

we are planning a visit to Washington, D.C. Nov. 8,9,10, any suggestions on what to do or see and has anyone ever stayed at the Omni? How is it? Any suggestions and is there any reason to be worried by recent events?

I'd suggest reposting with Washington DC in your header if you want a better chance of getting response.

Some people are so damn anal, aren't they? Just answer the question and spare us the grammar school lecture.

The Smithsonian museum complex on the mall is astounding and free and quite enjoyable. All the big monuments are also in walking distance - Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson, as well as the Viet Nam Memorial and the Holocost Museum. You will feel very safe, as Security is our middle name these days. I don't know if the capitol will still be closed to visitors by then, but there is plenty else to see. There is a great little trolley tour you can hop on and hop off all day long, which is an excellent deal. On a beautiful day, the National Zoo is great, and you can take the Metro very easily. DC is easy to walk around. We'll be glad to see you as tourism has been quite dismal since 9/11.

Dear Dos Equis.

Did you know why you were named "Dos"? Your family needed a co-signer.

That's pretty funny, especially coming from someone named 'duh'.
