Visit to Austin and San Antonio
 

My husband and I are planning a week visit to Austin and San Antonio at the beginning of December. We are flying in and out of Austin. We are thinking of driving to San Antonio the day we arrive, spending two nights there, two nights in the Hill Country and the rest of the time in Austin. Do you think we need to stay in the Hill Country or is it close enough for us to stay either in Austin or San Antonio and drive there a couple of days?

I'd stay in the Hill Country. Yes it's close enough for a day's drive but Fredericksburg is s cute town and you could do enchanted rock and LBJ ranch and have plenty of things to do for two days. But I don't mind changing hotels frequently.

We just did that. Flew into Austin and home from San A. Spent two days on the river walk in SA. Both Austin and SA had a lot to see and do.
