I've stayed at Governor Spottswood many times. I don't think it's anymore than 2 mi from the CW visitors center ... check any online map to find it just west of where Bypass Rd re-joins Richmond Rd on the west side of Wbg. Only about a 5 min drive from CW. Obviously longer from BG or WC, but I can't say how much.

Gov Spottswood is an older owner-run "motor court" which grew by a few buildings at a time. It's a nicely wooded property with a pool. Most of the rooms are set back a good distance from street traffic noises. It's my favorite lodging in CW (and no, I"m not the owner!) There are a number of (mostly chain) restaurants nearby. Sorry, the Governor only serves free coffee, no continental breakfasts, etc.
