Virginia: restaurant for dinner on Hwy 29?

We'll be driving from Washington DC to Lynchburg VA and are looking for suggestions for a good place to stop for dinner somewhere along 29 that won't take us out of our way. We're just looking for someplace casual with good food. Any restaurant recommendations?

Bavarian Chef on #29,soon past the turnoff to Madison (Rt.631 ?) on R side of Rt. 29. Open wedn - sat. 4:30PM-9:30PM and Sun. 11:30 -9:30 PM. Closed Mon & Tues.
There are lots of fast food and casual places just north of Charlottesville on #29. These are right on #29.
Warrenton has some good restaurants, but that may be too early for a stop.

There's a Metro 29 dinner in Arlington, but I don't think that's the area you're looking for. Althought they do have great pie.

another vote for Bavarian Chef - it opened in the early 70s, in an old gas station, and the food has remained good. Or you can wait ten minutes until you get to the outskirts of Charlottesville. But south of there, nada! There's one good place just off 29 in Culpepper - name escapes me - anyone know?
