Virginia Beach - which beach for family day trip?

Hi, we are family of five with three children under age 10. We will be in VA Beach only for the day arriving around 9:30 am. Where is a good place to park that will be near a restroom, outdoor shower and lunch? Also, are there some sections of beach that tend to attract more families than young singles? Thanks.

We like the area near 24th street. Our children are 8 and 4 and we were very comfortable there.

We normally bring a picnic lunch, so I really can't help you with the lunch, but I am sure there are places around.

Please feel free to come to Williamsburg on your way and spend money!

Thanks reneeinva. Actually, we will be spending 5 days in Williamsburg and VA beach is just one of our day trips! I am sure we will be spending lots of money there! Any suggestions on good family-tolerant restaurants in Williamsburg?

Cheese Shop on Duke of Gloucester is wonderful. If you like BBQ, Pierce's is good. Casa Maya is great for Mexican!
