Vintage Subway Cars in operation for the 2017 Holoday Season

As in previous years the MTA will operate a train of vintage (1930-1940) subway cars.

The train will operate on the following Sundays - November 26, December 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31.

This year the train will take a slightly different route than previous years. It will leave the 2nd Avenue (Houston St) station on the 'F' line. Travel uptown making all local stops on the 'F' line to the 63rd Street/Lexington Avenue station where it will then switch to the 'Q' line and travel up the new Second Avenue Subway to 96th St/2nd Avenue. The trip from end to end takes about 28-30 minutes.

The train will leave 2nd Avenue (Houston Street): 10 AM, 12 Noon, 2 PM, 4 PM

The train will leave 96th Street/2nd Avenue: 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, 5 PM

After leaving 2nd Avenue (Houston Street) the train will stop at:
Broadway/Lafayette Street
West 4th Street/6th Avenue
14th Street/6th Avenue
23rd Street/6th Avenue
34th Street6th Avenue
42nd St-Bryant Park/6th Avenue
47th-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center/6th Avenue
57th Street/6th Avenue
63rd Street/Lexington Avenue
72nd Street/2nd Avenue
86th Street/2nd Avenue
96th Street/2nd Avenue

The trip back to 2nd Avenue (Houston St) will stop at the same stations (but in reverse order)

There is no cost to ride the train other than the initial cost ($2.75) to enter the subway.

In addition to the above there will also be Vintage buses operating along 42nd Street. More information will be announced on the above MTA webpage. Operation of the buses will be subject to weather conditions. The standard fare applies to ride these buses.

---------------Model Train Exhibit-----------

Starting around November 17, 2017 and continuing until February 2018, the 16th Annual Model Train exhibit will be at the Transit Museum Gallery & Annex in Grand Central Terminal. It is located to the left of the Station Master's Office.
