Vineyards

Has anyone been to the Landmark Vineyard? I'm trying to plan my itinerary and their Pinot is one my favorites. But I was dissapointed with what looked like a bit of a hokey tasting room...but I'm basing that on their web site pics. I'm curious if anyone has been there and any feedback you might have. Thanks!

"Hokey ?" What do you define as "hokey?"
:-?
It's a very nice tasting room and patio surrounded by vineyards near adjacent
Annadel Park, IMHO. Hwy 12 & The Valley of the Moon area is one of Sonoma Counties most scenic areas.
No bias 'cause I live here, LOL.)

Where else are you seeking great pinot ?

It looked a bit fancier than I imagined it would with the big fountain and bouquet of something in the middle of the room. I've never been to your neck of the woods though, so I'm making assumptions I probably shouldn't be. I do love the Grand Detour Pinot, but also Calera. I'd love your input on other selections. Thanks! We are so very excited about our trip (in March).

I would welcome other good pinot vineyards to visit. That won't be all I drink, but certainly one of my favorites. Figure Sonoma is where we'll stay.

One of the best pinots we've had was from Papapietro-Perry. They have a tasting room off the main drag north of Healdsburg, not more than a counter and a place to lean. We served it at our tasting party last week and it was the #1 pinot pick. The only tasting rooms that I avoid are the ones with tour buses and limos in their parking lots. One of the best pinots I've had is from Lazy Creek in Anderson Valley. Tasting room is in their barn with the family pets running around.

If you are headed to Sonoma County for Pinot Noir, I would definitely say that Gary Farrell is not to be missed. They also have a magnificent tasting room with a wonderful hillside overlook.
