Villagio Inn or Bardessono???

My wife and I are heading to Yountville in a few weeks and currently have reservations to stay at the Villagio Inn but are suddenly wondering if we should switch over to the Bardessono? The difference in rates we were quoted for each is not enough to be a deciding factor so I am hoping that some of you can offer a little guidance...thanks in advance!

I can't speak from experience as a staying guest (as I live in the area), but Bardessono is a beautiful property. The pool/spa facilities are nice; the pool is on the top floor with great views. The restaurant is good and the outdoor dining area has a lovely ambience. Classy place. But welcoming as well. No experience with Villagio.

We have stayed at both! Bardessono is very contemporary, we stayed there last March. There is a really cool rooftop pool there, a small day spa and a fantastic restaurant. The rooms are stunning with fireplaces and very spacious bathrooms complete with a jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower.

Villagio is also very nice, it has a Tuscan-feel to it. The grounds are dotted with fountains, the rooms are comfortable, in the evening there is a piano player in the lobby. Villagio also has a nice pool area and a great Champagne breakfast buffet in the morning. Any specific concerns on either property, feel free to ask! ***kim*** ((#))

How does the Villagio compare to the near-by Village Inn? Seemed like they shared the same spa and health club and restaurant (we stayed at Village Inn in January and are thinking about a return trip to Yountville, depending on French Laundry dinner reservation availability) ...

Vintage Inn and Villagio are sister properties. They share the same staff, spa, and room service - no restaurant. If you stay in either try to get an upstairs room so you have the vaulted ceilings and private balcony. All the rooms are spacious and well appointed and have fireplaces although burning is not allowed on spare the air days.

Each inn is on opposite sides of Vintage 1870 which is also owned by the same group. On the Vintage 1870 property are two restaurants that lease the space - Pacific Blues and Bottega.

Oops, I meant VINTAGE Inn, not Village Inn ...
