Victoria: Worth it?
Visiting Seattle for six nights and wondered if a day trip to Victoria is worth it. Or should we spend one or two nights there, or skip it all together. What about the other islands? Thanks!

sure, if you have six nights i'd spend one night in victoria.

I'd also vote for a day or two in Victoria. You might want to dress a little more nicely than for other tourist activities. When I visited a few years ago with my husband, we couldn't eat in the main dining room of a nice hotel for tea because he was wearing jeans.

I would say four nights in Seattle and two in Victoria would be ideal. We only had one night in Victoria and wished we had at least one more. We loved Seattle, too.

Thank you all for your advice. Any recommendations for a hotel in Victoria--money isn't a major concern. I haven't been big on B&B's but there I may feel different. I know the Empress, but it looks stuffy/traditional. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

We were in Victoria at the beginning of June and stayed ata bed and breakfast that was wonderful. One of the best we have stayed in. The web site is www.fairholmemanor.com and the place really looks like that. It's in a great location -- beautiful gardens all around.

We are not city people but we enjoyed our trip to Victoria. This was many years ago and I would love to go back again.

You might consider staying here:
