We had a catered family reunion Thanksgiving at the Martha Vick House which is the home the founder of Vicksburg built for his daughter Martha back in the 1830's. It is a beautifully restored home and may still be a Bed & Breakfast.
I don't have a web site but you can check out information at:

I meant to say our family reunion at the Martha Vick House was probably 15 years ago that is why I 'm not sure if they are also still functioning as a B&B.

Coca-Cola was first bottled in Vicksburg, in 1894. The former Biedenharn Candy Company is now a museum dedicated to all thinks Coke.

If you are in Vicksburg March 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, or 26, see "Gold in the Hills". It has been presented annually since 1936 (that's 75 years!) and is the "Guinness Book of World Records".

We stayed at Anchuca several years ago and thought it was very nice indeed.

The National Military Park is awesome and a must-see but only Union troops are buried there so I also suggest a trip to their city cemetery where the Rebel troops are buried.
