Want to give a gift certificate to a nice couple in dc for a memorable meal. Where??

for the center of the action, you might try georgetown. there's nathans, clydes ... and for way upscale, citronelle. include a certificate to thomas sweet for dessert of great ice cream. walk along the river after....

If you really mean the very best, then definately Citronelle - some of the finest cooking in the world. $500 should be enough for a complete meal w/ good wine (unless they get the chefs table). What a lucky couple and you sound like a real sweetheart.

We love Nora, esp if they like upscale organic food. It is also a lovely atmosphere. While expensive, it is more like $120 for a couple, I'd guess.

For french food and romantic atmoshpere, we loved Gerard's. have heard great things about Citronelle, too.
