Ventana Inn in Big Sur

Has anyone stayed here? Would be interested in hearing about your stay.

Othello
we stated at the Ventanna Inn a few years ago and highly recommend it.
The rooms are fabulous with wonderful views of the forest or ocean. We had forest view with our own hot tub on the deck. Wonderful to soak in the evening with a glass of wine. The bathrooms are very large and luxurious as are the rooms (with fireplace) We had a wonderful dinner at their restaurant, great hikes and great massages in our room in front of the fire. Wow, this brings back some wonderful memories, can't wait to go back.
Hope you go and have a great time

yes, it's a great spot. and a wonderful view, the food very good, the rooms very attractive. For another great view try lunching at nearby Nepenthe.

Ventana Inn is tops on the drive through Big Sur. VEry expensive but worth every dollar if it sings to you. Nepenthe, however, recommended above, is a beautiful view place for lunch but the food is really predictable American ie, burgers on picnic tables. Lovely view though. Another less expensive place with a great view is at the southern end of hwy 1 through Big Sur, called the Ragged Point Inn. Beautiful ocean views and prices much more reasonable that Ventana. Cambria, the little town nearby has some nice little restaurants with excellent food. We last stayed at Ventana in 1980s so our recommendations are most likely outdated.
