Venice: Hotel Calcina or Hotel American

These are both 3 star hotels with good reviews. They both seem available on our chosen dates. There 3 of us travelling. Unfortunately, neither has a canal view room available. The Calcina has a suite nearby, not in the hotel, and the American has a nice looking triple (internet picture). Anyone had experience with both? Thanks!

Assuming you don't mean Venice California - you should post this over on the Europe forum . . . . .

Whoops, thought I was on it! Thanks, I'll go over there!

Find a canal view room somewhere else. ;)

I love the Hotel American, and I did not have a canal view room. My friends did, but it is just a small canal, and I don't remember that we ever spent any time just looking at the canal! The 6 different rooms we had were all lovely.
